Ive always wondered if Florence Welch got the idea for Cosmic Love by watching Howls Moving Castle.

CHARACTER OF THE DAY. Wizard Howl from Diana Wynne Jones’ Howl’s Moving Castle. Howl is known to be very vain and enigmatic. When he was a little boy, he gave Calcifer—a fire demon—his heart so that the latter could continue living. This has been rumored to cause his humanity to be somewhat depleted. His owns a steampunk moving castle, which is said to go wherever he thinks he can find beautiful women so he can steal and eat their hearts. However, Calcifer describes Howl just as a very plain young man with loads of charm. :3
Even if he is oftentimes a yellow-belly, he really is a powerful wizard, almost the same level with the Wicked Witch of the Waste. He is just too irresponsible, trying to avoid the work that may come with the recognition.

What I love about Studio Ghibli films is that, in most of them, the love shared between two characters isn’t showy, passionate, or exaggerated. Most of the love interests don’t even kiss, let alone voice their love for each other. It’s beautiful to me, how simple and innocent young love is portrayed in Ghibli films.
